Hauling ATV in bed and pulling travel trailer

Recommended Posts

Sweet. Yeah, those are nice units! The Sportsmans ride really nice and have great ground clearance. And, the newer design really improved the approach angle. How far do the back tires stick out past the bed when it's loaded up?

Good to know!

Tires stick out about 4-5", leaving about 1-2" in the front as to try and not hit the front of the bed. The dealer told me the 450 unit would fit because it has smaller tires.

It was a pretty good deal. I got the 570 Sportsman. Started looking at the 450s, due to wanting a smaller one for the kids. But the 570 was only $500 more, so it was hard to say no. Took it out today, it's a good machine.

What did you pay if you dont mind me asking

I am a big ATV guy and haul all the time in the pickup bed and on a trailer when going to various places to quad.

There are two important questions:

What size bed do you?

What is the purpose of the quad and what will you mainly be riding?

6'6" bed on a 2500.

Just general riding, some with kids, some light trials, some ice, and so,e riding to and from deer stands.

I have a 2010 850 XP EPS. Best 4 wheeler I have ever ridden. That EPS is wonderful after you get used to it. Can ride for hours without getting worn out. Tipped it over on 2 wheels on day 2 and bailed off it, cracked a rib, but didn't want that 1000lb beast landing on me. Lol

Just picked one up, non eps for 5800. Gonna do the eps conversion.

Nice!

I'm in the process of installing some bed rails from CCR Sport to allow me some better tie-down points.
