My 1991 Chev 2500 [light-6 lug] needs some new tires. We all know they aint cheap any more and you get cheapies you got cheapies. Best $ is $700 for 265/75-16 A/T from Chinka. This is my old farm truck for fueling in the field and doing harder on it than should things. I rarely hit 6000 miles a year. I was in the local tire guys shop just to ask if he had any used ones or take-off. He said he wished, he showed my stacks of take-off 17" to 20" E range tires since for so long now that's been the standard for a pick-up/SUV. Heck we ever got a mint set of Denali rims and tires with 0 miles on for my brothers '11 2500HD for $600 last fall instead of buying new 17" tires. I, and tire guy were curious if rims from a GMT-900 or K2 would fit a 1988-1998 c/k. He did not have a wheel avail to test. I can get locally 2007 to 2016 1/2 ton 6 lug rims and new tire take offs on CL for $500-1000. 17 to 20s with Firestone, GY, or Michelin a/t tires. Then at least we would get into the bigger tire sizes for future needs and higher quality tires. Thanks

I believe that all the GM 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks have the same 6x5.5" bolt pattern (or 6x139.7 for the metric fans) with M14 x 1.5 nuts. This is confirmed with a google search only, I have not switched wheels from a new truck onto an older one.

They have all been the same since the 70s?

Thanks, me and my tire guy were mainly wondering about back spacing. The newer ones have a more + offset it appears to the eye. I should look up the back spacing. Should be some where out there....

Well I did some looking. Some lift CO had all the spacing info. Looks like a 17" from a 2014+ is 5.44" back space. A 99-06 16" is 5.22. So currently it has 2002 Tahoe rims on it so switching to the 17" 1500 ones should be fine.....on paper! Wish I could see how they look on a 88-98 body style.
