Thanks 15HDriver. Identifying where the truck is made is easy - I was curious about where the engine was made. Not that it matters, but I am curious.

 

I will look for the code on the label on the engine (like you mentioned in post #2), but how do I decipher the code? Is there a list of the codes and their meaning somewhere.?

 

The code breakdown is posted above. Lemme find a copy of a label to post so everyone can see what the label looks like. I'm working on the plant code info as well.

Engine identification can also be made through use of the Engine Traceability label (2) on the rear of the left cylinder head, or the Engine Traceability label (3) on the engine block as shown.
