hey i have been looking at doing this bypass to my truck with a 5.3 does it realy work like they say it does. if it does please post.

Make one yourself for less. This is just a hose and a splice. Big deal. I sweep that kind of stuff off the floor and throw it away half the time. This guy is making a kit out of it, and making a fortune, no doubt. It's for bypassing the cooling passage that flows under the front of the throttle body. The claim is that it lowers the intake air temp. by bypassing the hot coolant that flows around the throttle body. I tend to think the air is not there long enough to be heated, and this mod is just about worthless as far as any noticable gain in power.

I tried it, Throttle Body By-Pass, can't really say I could tell much of a difference. In theory, I guess it would be good, but you never know.

If you do it, buy the stuff yourself at a parts store, it will be a lot cheaper. I think you'd be mad if you paid that much after you did the mod.

It is supposed to work. The Corvetteforum guys do this one a lot on the LS1.

It should work some, but maybe not enough for sotp. Just make sure if you live in a cold region to switch back before freezing so the throttle body plate doesn't freeze and stick.

1.) The same parts can be purchased at any parts store for around a buck.

2.) I would have to call BS on the 6-8 hp gain. Maybe at the flywheel, but not at the rear wheels.

3.) They are claiming similar gains to an FIPK or programmer.

4.) I have yet to see/dyno any free/cheap mod to be worth more than 1-3 hp.

You all forgot to mention that the procedure can be found right here under the guides section. I like to shop E-bay and have seen these and thought the same thing. Someone making a lot of extra Bling-bling for really nothing in parts and just selling some knowledge found some where (probably here!).

I also inquired with one of the sellers of those little mode chips selling for like five and ten dollars on e-bay about his product and some real test data - guess what - never heard from them (Oh, big shock there).
