Burning oil bad in 2014 Sierra

2016 GMC Denali 6.2. 46,000 mi. . Go South for Winter,  take my Harley Trike with me in a 8 by 16 enclosed trailer.  Trip approximately 1600 miles.  Used 2qt of oil on way down.  Contacted GM..  I was told there was nothing they could do but to take it to dealer.  
Since this happened the first time last year, I thought it may have been a fluke. This year prior to trip I made sure the oil was full.  Once I arrived at my destination I checked oil. Once again 2 quarts low.  My dealer has asked me to have a local GM dealer verify the oil is full before I head back. Then bring in the truck. 
 Only time the truck uses oil is when I pull the trailer.  Previous to purchasing this truck, I pulled the trailer with a Ford 3.5 Ecco boost and a Toyota Tundra. Never used a drop.

It's still ongoing. Took it in on Monday for the rebuild. Was supposed to be only pistons and rings but they determined it needed heads too. Waiting on the heads to arrive and they have no ETA on that. Luckily they didn't tear everything down before they determined I needed heads. They called me today and told me to come get my truck and they will schedule or again once the heads come in. They said once they have all the parts it should only take a couple days...

Do you mind if I ask how much it cost for the repairs? Looks like mine is going to need the same.
