Tailgate Hinges

Made a pair of replacement tailgate hinges today. It took a couple of tries to get the proper lengths of the 2 pieces.

 

 

I'll post a pic of them installed tomorrow. I'll probably end up making a pair out of stainless. For 10 years I had a pair of stainless hinges on 2 trucks that stood up well to the elements.

Great work. There used to be a guy on here that made them and sold them but they aren't around anymore. He called them "VR Straps".

Had something like those on the 88 Sierra I use to have. They were still the original ones when it was sold over a year ago.

Im thinking it was partway thru the GMT400 run that they got rid of the hinges. Not sure what my '94 had.
