what's wrong with my truck?

I installed a moroso catch can about 5k miles ago. It had 40k on it at the time. I just drained it for the first time. It's mostly clear liquid with a gassy smell. I've seen pictures of what other people have drained and didn't look like this. I do electric start my truck all winter long but should there be this much moisture going through the pcv system?

From wikipedia - Crankcase ventilation system:

"The airflow through the crankcase and engine interior sweeps away combustion byproduct gases, including a large amount of water vapour which includes dissolved chemical combustion byproducts."

I would also make sure your wife doesn't catch you putting that in the good glasses.

You'll get a lot more condensation during winter and cooler temps. Mine is like that during Iowa winters. Mostly oil in warmer temps.

More surprised you're only emptying every 5k.

OK thanks guys. I expected some more condensation in the winter but not that much. Now I know and I'll be emptying it every couple thousand this time of year. The wife wasn't so happy about me using the glass. Lol

You emptied it after 5k miles living in NH in the winter?? How many oz does your can hold? That thing had to be overflowing.
