What Radio do i have

I'm new to all this onstar junk. how do I tell what radio I have. navigation doesn't work. I think it goes thru onstar. how do you add navigation or can you find an aftermarket plug in. don't want to sub to onstar. I hate stuff by the month. thanks guys (awesome site)

If your Navigation says just Navigation then it's Factory Nav. If it says On-Star Navigation then you have On-Star Navigation and that requires the monthly Subscription.

 

Alternatively if you have a 2016 or Newer with "Projection" you can connect a newer Android or Apple phone and use the Navigation through those systems for free (my wife does this on her 2018 Equinox) I do both Factory Navigation and Android Navigation on my Silverado depends how I want to use the system that day.

Do you have a picture you can post of the screen you have?

If you look at the sticker that was on the truck when you bought it, it should list the radio, and say if it is apple/android compatible. If it is, I would just use your phone connected to it. Google/apple maps are better and always updated compared to the factory nav.

 

And it is free (other than the $5 cable)....
