Blown fuse for O2 sensors

Why does my Sierra, keep blowing fuses for the O2 sensors? It's very fustrating !

They are heated O2 sensors and if they are the original to the engine, chances are the little heaters built into the sensors are worn out and shorting out thus blowing the fuses. Plan on replacing them all. However many there may be. 4 possibly. 2 before the cats, and 2 after the cats? I can't remember. I'm assuming you have a 5.3L or 4.8L V8. If you have the 4.3L V6 you probably have 2 O2 sensors. I would recommend you stick with the same brand that came from the factory. It used to be that you could just run over to your local parts store and pick up a few Bosch sensors and throw them in and it would work, however, the auto repair industry is starting to see a trend where other brand sensors are causing various faults and they don't see as many issues when sticking with the manufacturer of the sensors that came from the factory with.

Blown fuse can also usually mean a shortage.. If you replace them again with ACDELCO, and the problem persists, i would unfortunately say you have a shortage somewhere in the wire, could be corroded, could be broken. It could happen anywhere in the entire wiring harness. Could be a short in the aftermarket ones if you bought anything but acdelco as well.

I HIGHLY recommend new AC Delco upper O2 sensors. They come with a 1yr/12k mile warranty too.

You can "go cheep" on the lower O2 sensors- If you must, in the future...

Help! The Auto Zone readout says Code P0135, which indicates a fault in Bank 1, sensor 1, O2 electrical circuit.
Also P1258, Engine Metal Over Temperature Protection.

I replaced the sensor, but no fix. Mechanic friend said to check each fuse...BUT, does anyone know if there might be specific fuses to check...and not all fuses?

My '01 GMC V8, Z71, has just 135k on it.

thank you
