Electrical issue involving door locks

My door locks started going out on my 08 Sierra. I read on this site a $5 mod. I cut the gray and orange wires going into the factory door lock actuator and connected them to the aftermarket actuator. The actuator would work either up or down but not both. I then cut the green wire and tried that one. When ever the green would touch the actuator wires a i would hear a click and the actuator would move. At once the interior door lock switches stopped working. The aftermarket actuator now works fine with the remote but the door switches do nothing at all. The Driver Unlock fuse was blown but after i replaced it nothing happened. I think that at one point i shorted out the green wire. This has caused the remote start, door lock and unlock switches, to not work, the hoop open code to pop up, the door open doesnt ding, and 3 out of 4 tire psi readings dont work. Is there a component that controls all these parts? Help please!

Check your wiring harness. I just fixed 5 wires, 2 snapped , 3 about to break. All in the rubber tube that's in the door jamb. Cheap wiring wears out.
