The 5100s were less harsh in my opinion. You can only soften a 2500/3500 suspension so much...

I also run 50 PSI all the way around and my truck is a lot smoother, my last truck I also ran same pressure on some Michilins m/s and at 70,000.00 still had another 10,000.00 of wear left that is when I traded for the new truck. I think you get better wear when pressure is around 50 PSI, if you haul something put more air in. I will be replacing the shocks soon to the 5100, as of now stock is just fine at 2500 miles, just need to shop around and find the best price.

I found the best deal at 4 wheel parts for all four when I was shopping. My OE shocks were pretty rough by 40k, all still had a pressure charge (no leakers) but none were close in compression resistance.

Actually that's pretty good to get to 40K, on my last truck I put Monroe gas magnums at about 20K, the gas magnum are a good shock also, I will put the 5100 on my truck in the next couple of months. Thanks for the shopping advise

I had Monroe Gas Magnums on a Dodge 2500, and they were too stiff for my liking. Did Monroe Reflex on that truck later, and like them better.

I tried a lot of different shocks on that truck, decided that I wasn't doing that this time around and bought the 5100s right out of the gate. No regrets.
