What the best for a 2500hd 6.0. Been reading about the bilstien shocks but it sounds like they are for the 1500. When I ordered my truck I ordered the skid plates and not the Z71 package because I thought I would spend the saving on better shocks when needed.

5100s or 4600s, either one. I run 5100s and use my truck as a truck and as a grocery getter.

I still have the stock shocks on my 2016 Dually and they feel fine so far. My 08 Duramax Dually wore the front shocks out and the truck was nosing down on even moderate brakeing and the back brakes would activate the ABS .I put Rancho 9000 shocks on all around and they have a knob with 9 firmness settings. Because the Duramax is so heavy I kept the front shocks on the firmest setting and what a difference. It truly felt like I got new brakes. The truck stayed level and stopped way better. When the time comes I will put the Rancho 9000s on this truck and because the 6.0 is so much lighter I will try softer settings on the front.

I have 5100s on mine. I like them, I've had them on three trucks now, one 1/2 ton and two 3/4 tons. No problems on any of them.

I had the rancho shock that came on the Z71 package, swapped to the Bilstien 5100's and won't look back. I have a 2500HD and it made the ride much better, better handling, better on dirt roads(I live on one that gets rutted and washboarded) and with a trailer behind me. Just size them for what you have; stock, leveled or lifted

I will probably go with the 5100's and use the highest setting on the front and try to level the truck that way, not into any other lifts, where is the best place to purchase the shocks and is there a part number for a 2017.

I just replaced the stock ranchos with the 5100s. It made the ride so much better! Highly recommend. Truck has 85k on it

I had Bilsteins put on the front a couple months after getting my 2500 and it still rides like crap. Is there some way to soften the front so I don't lose my dash at 20k miles

I think some people dummy out or reprogram their TPS so they can runner lower psi in the tires.

The problem I've always had with that is tire wear and you get sidewall roll so it makes the truck feel like it's going to slide around when you correct. Plus the steering is already dodgy as hell on this brand new truck

Does anyone know if the wt models have different shocks than the other models. I hear people say there's rides good. Trying to figure this out.

Running 50 psi in all four, perfect tire wear (not an incling of feathering or adverse wear at 35k miles and half tread remaining), handles just fine, rides almost as good as a 1500...it's not ever going to be a sports car.

when you say the ride is better? What do you mean?? Softer smoother ride? Or stiffer more controlled ride? Or softer more controlled? Thanks.
