Refman Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 My 07 is equipped with onstar, no Bluetooth. Is there any type adapter to loose onstar and gain Bluetooth?
Spurshot Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 There's at least a couple ways to go. 1. if you have a factory mic for OnStar, you can buy a 2009 or later OnStar unit with Bluetooth. It's basically plug and play. I did this for my 2008. The factory Bluetooth proved to be unreliable about 3-4% of the time or less. Still it was a pain. Maybe reliability of the unit got better by 2010 or later. It's expensive and really not worth it, IMO 2. you can buy an aftermarket adapter kit like the iSimple or Crux from Crutchfield, Scosche, and others. iSimple says the retain the use of the steering wheel controls (found on more equipped vehicles). That's a great feature. My 08 LTZ had the box located low in the center stack. It's been a long time, but I thought I pulled the radio and it was under it. There were a lot of posts with pix back then. A search of the GMT900 forums should turn up some threads.
