GM Extended Warranty??

Recommended Posts

I took my truck to the dealer yesturday to have a few things checked out. Of course CSK was one of them but what I really wanted checked out was a clicking noise that the engine makes when warm. They just called me and said that it is the injectors that are making the noise and it is NORMAL. I am tired of hearing that phrase "IT IS NORMAL" from GM.

I ask the Service Consultant about the extended warranty and he said he never heard of it. How do I get the 6yr/100000 mile extended warranty and what is covered under it?

I need help fast because I am picking it up at 5:00 and would like to know before I pick it up.

Thanks for the Info.

Go to management. Extended warranties are an amazing money-maker for dealers. I can't believe the consultant played ignorance.

But.... there is a grace period when you purchase an extended warranty. Or at least there used to be. Takes care of folks who buy it, then cancel, just for one particular job.

I don't want to buy one, I want a free one since everything is considered "NORMAL", they should stand by it.

I know some of ya'll have gotten a extended warranty through GM because of CSK, that is what I am after.

You need to call the GM customer service #(800 something) and let them know you've had the truck in several times for the same problem with no satisfaction. They will give you a case number and check into it. They may direct you to take the truck in again as well. That's the method from what I've gathered from others.

I just got off the phone (1-800-222-1020) with GM about the CSK and a extended warranty. I explained to them my problems and I was not happy with GM and how they said "ITS NORMAL" to everything that I have brought to their attention. Of course they said "ITS NORMAL" and gave me more BS. They then put me on hold for about 5 minutes and called the dealer to verify my truck has CSK and came back and offered me the 6yr/100k warranty on the engine only. The warranty is not an extension of the 3yr/36k, it started from the day I bought the truck.

I guess I am happy for now. I will probably get a new truck before 6yrs/100k is up anyways. So like someone has said in the past, "Drive it like you stole it".
