Reverse light

I have a 98 4.3 auto 1500. Its a wt trim level. There was a small piece attached to the shift column that has since fallen off. Since that happened i have lost reverse lights. I assume this must activate them when the truck is in reverse. Any advice on what to do or to get a replacement switch? Thanks

Not sure what you are referring to but I believe the reverse lights are activated by the neutral safety switch located on the transmission. Maybe a picture of the part you are referring to?

Ill try to get a picture asap. It was a plastic piece with a metal rod under the steering wheel. It had a connector at the bottom. It appeared to be connected to the column shifter
