I was looking at gandolphxx's webpage and noticed his cool cats.  These cats are known as "Ragdoll"s, and are very large and very mild mannered.  I scoured the internet for info on these cats, and did alot of research about them (plus alot of PM'ing with gandolphxx who I would like to thank).  Last night my wife put a deposit on a kitten.  He was born in early Feb and will be ready to come home in April sometime.  I thought my Collie was expensive until we bought our Maine Coone Cat.  I thought the Maine Coone was pricey until we bought the Ragdoll!!!   LOL!!!

Here are a couple of pics.  It will take him 2-3 years before he is full grown.  Both his parents are in the 15-18 lb range so once he is neutered I would expect him to be about 5 lbs heavier than his parents.

My last cat was a toss up between a ragdoll and a maine coon cat....Must say both are cute, wonderful lil cats.  You'll be able to toss your ragdoll over your shoulder and haul him around.  I used to drape my Coon around my shoulder as a scarf.  Kinda cool to do when people come up to your door and see a 30lb cat around your shoulders!   Most people were more afraid of the cat than my 180lb newfoundland.  Your gunna love your ragdoll thou, a buddy has one, sweet as can be.  Even greets people at the door.  They remind me of dogs actually.  Good luck with him, you'll love'm.

Cats!  My allergies are starting to act up already.

I read somewhere that alot of people who are allergic to cats aren't allergic to Ragdolls because the Ragdoll does not have the undercoat or second layer of fur.  Their fur is more like that of a rabbit.  That is why they don't care what direction you pet them.

Sarah, Are/were :) those fish in the background?  I wish I could get a pet.  Parents don't approve.  When I get my own place, and a nice yard, I want a "newfy" or a lab (I wouldn't mind a cat either :D ).  BTW I understand how you can keep dogs out of a kitchen, but how do you keep a cat off your eating/cooking surfaces?

siume99,

I have put tape (sticky side up) on the counter and hotsauce and I keep a spray bottle close-by.  It works pretty well, but you have to remember that when you get a cat, everything you own now belongs to the cat!!!

For anyone who doesn't own a cat but is considering getting one.....REMEMBER THESE WORDS!!!

Yes that was my Red Betta that I had....He 'Accidentally' got flushed down the drain while I was cleaning his bowl...I just got a new one not to long ago.  I have taken pics of him and will post it as soon as I get the film developed.

I was just wondering how long that fish lasted with that cat so close!   :0

Actually she is pretty good with the fish's.  She likes to just sit there and stare at them.  She can't stick her paw in the tank ( I won't allow her too) so I don't really worry about her hurting them :)
