New to me truck

Hi guys, I've been a member for a while but mostly just lurked around looking at everyone else's trucks and lighting up the search function when the wife's Acadia would act up. But recently I replaced my 05 Silverado with a much nicer truck. Found a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE in very good shape so I jumped at it. What really caught my eye was the lack of rust underneath. It's originally from Long Island, but even so it hasn't seen much in the way of salty roads.

 

 

 

 

Already discovered the oil pressure screen issue whole driving down the highway,....that was fun but at least it cost me nothing to fix. It's got just over 93 kmi, 5.3L with AFM already bought a Range unit from another member here, 6 speed trans. Going from my 2005 ext cab Silverado 4.8L to this is a world of difference, to say the least. Thanks is my first purchase in a decade where I bought something I actually wanted and I am extremely happy. Love this truck. Cont me a measly $16k. What do you guys think, good deal?

Nice job man! I like the stance too. I hear ya on the rust. Gm wax coats their frames and it looks like this one didn't see much winter uses. If I were you I'd clean up what you can and re paint it.

Thanks guys. I'm planning on treating the surface rust that is there. Having it professionally undercoated. And buying some sort of monthly or early pass at a carwash for the winter.
