Always get a line of crap from the dealer every time they replace the bushing and or whole mechanism. Now vehicle is out of warranty.
Gixxer188 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I have the same OE easy/slow down thing on my Denali but has since worn out so rather than replacing it I install the Dee Zee DZ43102 Truck Tailgate Assist and it works great.

dave winter Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Greetings I had the same problem discovered the tailgate hinge is bent, warranty is expired I think it came this way from the factory not sure why I think that. it needs to be bent closed a little bit any ideas.
Dallas Rose Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 There is a male plastic portion of the bushing and a female portion of the plastic bushing. I’m looking for the male plastic bushing that goes over the gate assist rotating spring loaded knob.
