HD hood on a tahoe?

i saw a picture once of a black suburban sporting an HD hood on the standard 1/2 ton grille....is this just a bolt on thing?

from what i've heard it bolts right on but you need to do something to the grill to make it fit right I'll tr and find out what it was for ya.

that suburban on the tbyrne website also has the HD grille on it.

Ive seen it done. It looks good. It is a bolt on thing. If you do the grille also then you have to change the bumper also. The hood by itself looks good though.

The black truck you saw was the Lucchese edition Suburban. The reason they had to make adjustments was because they used the Denali headlamps instead of the Chevy units.

The heavy duty hood fits fine. I put one on my 02 tahoe about 2 months ago. The only thing is that its not that much bang for the buck (over $600.00 once said and done after painting). This may be because my truck is a white Z71 and the hood doesn't stand out too much with all that white. I may put some pinstriping on the hood.

The only thing i have to say is that the fit is great (because its factory steel unit). I considered a fiberglass unit, I really can't live with fiberglass hoods, the fit on my last one wasn't that good (89 mustang). Maybe there better now. The hood I really like has a cowl with a vacume(sp?) activated scoop. I can't remember where I saw it (catalog), but it was pretty cool. If you don't mind fiberglass, you should check this out prior to purchasing. Maybe somone else on the site has a link.

Yep, confirm that number before ordering of course. GM likes to change part numbers

I just saw GMPD ships this hood to a business address only (getting cheap on shipping ;) )

Try www.partszoneonline.com and see if they do the same.

259 seems kinda high actually..

I've seen them as low as $225, if you have a local salvage yard check with them mine said they could get me a painted one for $200

I was able to haggle a local dealer down by just asking for his best price. Cheaper than gmpartsdirect by the time they charged for the outragous shipping.

I'm hoping to have it painted in about 2weeks
