Uneven brake pad wear ?

I was replacing a hub on my 06 Silverado 2500 and noticed the brake pads are wearing uneven ? If you look close they are wearing more on opposite ends of the pads

Have been doing our own brake jobs for a long time. In my opinion nothing wears brake pads evenly.

I would do a pad slap and find something else to worry about .

Slide pin seizing up, caliper seizing up...doesn't take much.

De-rust and grease the slide pins and the guides.

and replace the rubber boots on the caliper.  Then, when reassembling, really clean out the holes, check that they are clean by sliding in a cleaned off caliper pin so it comes out clean and slides freely, then put caliper grease (not regular grease) in the hole before installing the new rubber boots.

Try to use synthetic caliper grease.  It has a much higher melting point and seems to keep moisture out a little better as well.
