What does everyone think of this truck?

From what I can tell, it seems like a decent price.

Here's my dilemma.......I'm trying to decide what I want to do, as far as buying a newer car/truck. I have an '89 Cheyenne pickup that I drive every day, and an '89 Camaro that I typically drive on nice days. It's really nice not having a car payment, but it kind of sucks that I don't have a fun car OR a nice daily. Between those two vehicles and my wife's Equinox, there isn't any room at our house to add another vehicle. Ideally, I would love to get a '14 or '15 Camaro 1LE, which means I would get rid of the '89 Camaro to make room for it, and keep daily driving my Cheyenne pickup. A nice 1LE costs around $25k with under 50k miles. The other option I'm considering would be a 2010+ Sierra with the 6.2, which would replace my Cheyenne. Most of these trucks with under 100k miles are less than $20k.

I'm torn. I guess I can't decide if I want to get a car payment for a (much) more fun toy that would be driven 8 months out of the year, or a much newer/nicer/faster daily driver pickup. Ohio tends to ruin any vehicle that sees winter use, so I'm sure the salt will eventually ruin whatever truck I get. At first the Camaro 1LE seemed like the no brainer choice, but there are reasons why I'm thinking it might be smarter to get a new pickup instead. Not only would it be a really nice upgrade from my current truck, but the cheaper monthly payments would make it a little easier to buy a different house. Also, when you drive a rusty 1989 truck every day, you're always wondering about how long it'll last before something breaks or whatever.

What do you guys think?

Toys are great, but they won't get you to work in bad weather.  To me, a reliable daily driver is the most important thing.

True.

My '89 pickup is reliable, but at the end of the day it's almost 30 years old. There's something to be said for peace of mind when you have a newer vehicle. Then again, with my luck I'll buy a newer truck and it'll be full of problems.......

That '89 has far fewer things that can go wrong with it than a new truck. Reliable and cheap to fix. Keeping a  few cheap extra parts and a toolbag in the cab and you can get out of most break downs on the side of the road. But it sounds to me like you have already talked yourself into a new truck. I would get a new truck myself.

I haven't really talked myself into anything yet. I would say there's maybe a 10% chance I buy anything new in the next 6 months. Just exploring my options at the moment and trying to think everything through as much as I can before I make up my mind. I've also started considering a '16+ Silverado. Hell, I might end up just sticking with what I got and moving to a different house first.

I love my '89 pickup, but there are certainly better options for a daily driver.
