Spotify won't play when plugged in via USB

Hello All,

I am trying to play spotify with my iPhone through my radio via USB. I have a 2016 silverado with mylink that DOESNT have apple car play. Spotify will play fine through bluetooth but won't play at all when plugged in through USB. Any ideas on what I can do to fix? iPhone X with latest iOS software.

If the iPhone doesn’t have any songs downloaded to the Apple Music app any form of media won’t play through the usb. Usually when the iPhone is plugged in through the usb it will default to playing through the music app then you have to switch it over to Spotify. Without that default play through, it will deny all media through the usb. At least that’s how it works in my 15 silverado.

It is also a good choice to store Spotify songs to a USB flash drive for playback in the car. Use Spotify Music Converter to download music from Spotify to USB, and then plug the USB into your car stereo, you can listen to it offline anytime.
