Memphis Car Audio

I'm about to throw a system in my 2001 Silverado. I will be using a new Pioneer 7500MP deck and also add an XM radio tuner to it using the Pioneer module. I will also be installing a 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect subwoofer under the back seat (extended cab) in a custom box. I need to find a good amp! I'm looking at the Memphis PR300 amp. The sub is rated at 75-350 watts RMS, and the amp pushes 300x1 bridged (I think it's bridged, anyway, it pushes 300 watts RMS). Is this going to be a good amp? Keep this in mind, I'm not looking for "hear me a block away" pounding bass. I want a good sounding rumple to complement my highs and am going for all out sound quality rather than all out thump. Please give me amp suggestions, and if I should use 4 gauge or 8 gauge to wire it up. I also don't mind paying extra for quality. Thanks.

well if it were me I would change things up a bit.

1st I would go for a HU that had the xm or sirius built in so you didnt need the module

2nd I would go all JL audio JL250/1 rocks

3rd which sub again? dvc or svc? I would look at a JL10w3v2

lastly what type of music do you primarilly listen to

Do those even exist yet?

I was told a few months ago that the XM tuner itself is going to be in a seperate module for a long time.

But I'm retarded....So that could be it too.

I am refering to the dash mount module if thats what he was talking about. Not the tuner/receiver.

hell...I am not exactly an pioneer expert so it might not ever have been them who offer it that way

alpine all the way baby

I think ya'll might have missed my question. But first, let me clear this up, 1. Head units with built in XM are not made, you have to add a separate tuner box. 2. I already have the Pioneer 7500MP deck, tuner module, custom box, Infinity Kappa Perfect 10" sub. The sub is rated at 75-350w RMS and I think 1400w max. My question: "What would be a good amp to run with this sub? I was thinking the Memphis PR300." Question #2 "Are Memphis car amps good quality? I've heard they are, I just want some more opinions." Hope this helps. Also, while I'm not dogging Alpine or JL stuff at all, I've already decided on certain things for my system based on performance, appearance, and price through a lot of research. Now the only thing I need to put it all together is an amp, the area I'm least familiar with, so any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Can't go wrong with Fosgate amps for a sub.

You could push a 10 incher with a Fosgate "Punch 40" or whatever they are calling them these days. Prices are fairly reasonable for them too.

Can't give you much on Memphis amps though.

go with a mono amp. A guy that works with a friend of mine had a memphis amp and s**t the bed 3 times in 1 year. I was suggesting the jl stuff because I have had exellent results and the prices are about the same within $20. I have also heard the same thing on the fosgate stuff

I cant remember what exactly went wrong but it had to be sent back 3 times and then something else happened to it. He ended up getting a fosgate
