Programming newly installed suspension control module

Does a new suspension control module need to be programmed before it will work? I have installed it and I still get service suspension system message and it doesn't appear to be controlling everything

Why did you replace it? And what does the old one do when it is installed?

Old one was causing all kinds of issues including service suspension system warning, ABS light, check engine light, all gauges acting goofy, doors locking and unlocking. My local garage troubleshoot and determined that was the problem but he wasn't for sure if it needed programmed in order to work when installing it.

What kind of vehicle and what year is it? Suspension module has nothing to do with check engine light, ABS,door locks, gauges.Your trying to fix numerous different problems by throwing something at it that was diagnosed by a shop that doesn't know what they are talking about.
