Fox 2.0 Shocks

I've read many many threads about Bilstiens and even 1 or 2 about the new Eibach shocks.  I've seen nothing, and even searched for something, on the new Fox 2.0 setup.  They look really cool and appear to come with front springs.  They also appear to be fully assembled, ready to install and have an external ride hieght adjustment.  Fox has a great reputation for off-road shocks, but each vehicle is different.  They are a little pricey, but they may be worth it.  Anybody try these yet?

Apparently, the site search function is not too good.  I did a Google search and got several hits for this forum.

Anyway, I'd still love to hear from anyone that's had them for a while now.

I've heard mixed reviews. Depends on what you use the truck for. Personally if I'm already spending that much I'm going to get the 2.5s to get some actual Offroad performance. I've heard they're not much better than the bilsteins but much pricier

This is what I seemed to find as well.  Thus I was in a debate between the 5100s and Eibachs... went with the Eibachs because no one seemed to have them, so I figured I'd be a guinea pig.

What do you think of the Eibach?  I've had Bilstiens on other vehicles so I have some idea of what to expect from those.

I think the Fox would be really easy to install since the entire coil over assembly gets replaced, plus the adjustable ride hide would be nice to dial in exactly the hieght you want.

Not installed yet.  Just got parts yesterday.

Pretty much exactly the conclusion I came to during my due diligence on shocks.

Unlike a lot of performance upgrades the shock upgrade is not very incremental. You can't just shell out $700 and get a system that does much better than the $350 bilsteins.

It pretty much leaves you with 2 options.

Bilstein 5100's or get serious.

It is easy. I’ve got fronts and backs and did them myself. Noticeable difference. Took an evening in the garage. Got the truck aligned after.

Honestly if you off road once a week I’d go with the 2.5 series, but if not the 2.0 work great. I’ve got mine set at 1.5” raised in the front and that’s it...it comes from the factory like this so if you want more you’ll have to crank them down more.

Good investment for under $1k for all 4 corners

Did you replace the Ranchos, or the black shocks?  I'm not seeing the Fox stuff quite that cheap.  The set of 4 looks to be closer to $1200 to my door.

I have Fox 2.0 all around my Sierra and have had them for approx 20k. I had the Ranchos and the rebound of those shocks convinced me to change. I wanted to level and felt the safest way on the truck is with an adjustable suspension. For me it was a night and day difference. The rebound is much better and the wheels stay planted over bumps. I also noticed better response at highway speeds and a lot less nose dive in turns and braking. For me it was worth the price of admission.

I considered the bilsteins but I would have had them maxed out in height which I have heard provides a rougher ride.

My truck does go off road but is also my daily driver so the upgrade to a suspension that could take more abuse made sense for me.

If I had to do it over again I would have gone straight to the 2.5, King, etc route only because I smoked my stock UCA ball joints after 20k and just replaced to Cognito which I was ultimately was trying to avoid with just the Fox 2.0.

Do you think you killed the ball joint due to the height, or because you use the truck off-road?  I don't need a full 2" front lift.  I was actually thinking of setting them at about 1.5-1.75".  If I go Bilstein, it will be a toss up between using the top notch or the next one down.  I like a little rake, just not as much as stock.

My best guess is the height. The amount off road has been limited and I really didn’t push the truck to hard anytime( I’m sure the full cycling of the suspension though did play a part).

With the 2” in front you can look at your suspension and see the ball joint angle and it’s not going where it was stock. Will it always cause premature wear, maybe but it’s really how you drive and what your using your truck for. If it’s going to be a pavement queen then I’m sure they could last a lot longer than mine did.

After getting the cognito’s though I could immediately see the angles improve along with the functionality with more allowable suspension movement especially off-road.

The seat of your pants feel is that the tires really want to stay on the road over bumps so more of a lack of rebound. For me on and off road it rides better, softer and much more compliant than stock.

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.
    • How about them NICKS!!!
    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
