Exhaust sounds...help

I have a 2017 Silverado 5.3L and I deleted the muffler and left the flapper valve and resonator. If I delete the resonator and just leave the flapper valve, will it sound better, louder, deeper? I just want alittle more noise

It will be a lot louder but I think it will sound sloppy

I did the same thing but left my resonator. I really like the sound. I also wired by flapper open all the time. I got a bunch of rattle from it shortly after deleting the muffler. I should have had it removed as well but oh well.

Should I delete the flapper?

Yes. It’s only there to help reduce the drone when in V4 mode I believe.

If you still have afm then leave it in

Ok I do

If you remove it and don’t disable AFM you will get this helicopter noise when the truck drops to V4 mode.

It’s not entirely annoying but could be long term.

So removing the resonator won’t damage anything?

Maybe damage the wallet a bit lol. I removed muffler/flapper/resonator from the truck within the first 5k and no issues.

Ok, so I did it. I removed the resonator and all I have left is the flapper valve from the cats back. It did deepen the sound, it did make it just a little louder, but it sounds too raspy...I’ve heard about the Flowmaster super 44...do you guys think it will make things much better?

I just had Flow 40 installed with over axle dumps. I think it’s perfect. Sounds just like a truck. I originally had a Borla ProXS with no resonator or flapper. It wasn’t that good sounding; quiet.

Search for geswek on instagram. I posted video yesterday of my exhaust.

It cost me $150 to get it installed.

It’s not incredibly loud or obnoxious. It sounds like a real truck LOL.

Make sure that’s what you want. I was told the 44 would be quieter and sound pretty much like my Borla ProXS.
