Um, no.  I’d believe a large part of the buying decision for those that spend $100k on a sedan (pick your threshold) is ownership prestige.   This may hit performance & exclusivity.   But not prestige.   Hyundai Genesis anyone?

Back in 2011 when my wife bought her Genesis it was car of the year by a few magazines. It was her second Hyundai after an 06 Elantra. We still have the Elantra. My wife drove it for 5 years, my daughter for 7 now it’s going to her son. It shows like a 2 year old car. The Genesis only flaw has been the blue tooth that was handled under warranty when it was 5 years old. That seven year old car shows like a one year old car, no wear on the leather. That being said their getting pricey. I was getting ready to buy our 5th Hyundai, a sonata. Bought a Camry. Same with the Genesis, I can buy a Lexus for the price of a Genesis. Not buying either.

The Korean twins have used Toyota’s playbook and I don’t dispute quality.  It’s the Lexus = Hyundai price tag that boggles the marketing mind.  No offense meant.  Sorry.

Non taken, just relaying personal experience. If it wasn’t for the warranty I wouldn’t have ever tried them.
