:wtf: I just want to share some pictures of my truck. Hopefully by January 2004 I will get my Rancho 4" lift and wheels. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Looks great!

How much does the extra sound deadening help? My truck is already quiet, does that stuff really make a huge difference?

The materiel was 250 dollars and the labor was 350. The doors do close like a car (solid) and ride also feels solid. I did notice a 3-decibel change inside the cab. One thing I did like was the difference in audio quality with the factory speakers. I did get more of a solid bass, and less resonance inside the door. Recently I did change the speakers to JL audio and WOW they rock. Overall I’m very happy and JP Customs did a very good job in installing the material. For information call or e-mail JP Customs…he could get you a better price on the material. For more information on the material I used..check this site.

SOUND DEADENING

One more thing... I was wondering if anyone could e-mail me or post the part numbers for the Denali Headlamp right and left.

Thanks

Nice looking rig man. I'm interested on how happy you are with the JL audio speakers. I bought a Sony receiver for the most part I think is junk, you know the model like you see in Best buy what has the flat screen on one side that displays a bunch of s**t and the other side has buttons and automatically rotates. I think it's the ES 9310 or something. I got it a Audio Works by my house because the ES version is supposed to be better but anyways. With that I had them install micro filters to help the factory speakers to keep from blowing with that addtion my stereo sounds crappy. I mean we have a 2001 HD work truck with speakers in the door only and a AM/FM stereo that's it and it sounds better so would you think that the micro filters are f@cking up my sound or does Sony just blow. Thanks. And if not I have some Clarions 6.5 and 4X6 for the back 3 ways I just wanted to make sure they would help..

BDBWTE

I personally think the JL audio speakers are best for the buck. The aluminum dome projects the high very clean. As per The MB Quarts they use a Titanium Tweeter and the high tend to be very harsh. Don’t get me wrong the MB Quarts are very good speakers, but they are very expensive. The reason I mention MB Quarts is because it's what most of the guys tend to go for. The speakers I have are the XR650Csi and the best place to buy them is from Ebay. At an authorized dealer expect to pay 350.00 bucks or more, but at ebay I have seen them go for 200.00 dollars. Other thing I’m planning to do is to add a Alpine head unit. I personally have always like Alpine, there quality of craftsmanship is excellent. The unit I’m thinking off is the CDA-7998 with a FantomFace XL face and brilliant Bio Lite display. Will I hope you consider the JL speakers and try to stay away from Best Buy or Circuit City. There quality of merchandise is very poor, try to consider Car Toys, Tweeter or any High End dealer.

I have MB Quart components in the front, and (if you tune your system) they are amazing. I wouldn't trade them for anything....But yes, they are....ummm..."cost prohibitive".

I'm not trashing JLs though, those are awesome speakers too. I would buy those, Infiniti, or Boston before I went with anything else. But there is a lot of personal preference when it comes to speakers, and the way they sound.

BDBWTE, if you replace the factory head unit, it would be a great idea to replace the factory speakers. I doubt that the stockers can keep up with that Sony.

Not to mention that with a Sony "ES", you should have enough control over your audio as to not need those "bass blocker" audio filters. I believe that you can take just about all of the bass out of the mids and tweets, and direct it all to the subwoofer amp pre-out. I could be mistaken though, I havn't had a Sony in eons.

Just watch out...When you start upgrading every little component, you run the risk of stereoitis....And you will spend waaaay too much money on it. I'm living proof.

I have three trucks...And about 5 systems total, if you count all the crap I have laying about. :wtf: It's pathetic, really. :wtf:

Nice looking truck........ The red white and blue Z71 sticker looks good on that black also.

Anyone see the Purple and teal ones that are out??
