Brand new 2018 Silverado seat memory issues

I've searched the forums to see if others have the same issue.  I did have a similar problem as in another post, that being all the vehicle settings were missing except chime volume in the settings menu.  I have remedied that situation by simply locking and unlocking the truck with keyfob #2.  With keyfob#1, those settings are now available again.

I have confirmed that the keyfobs are numbered 1 and 2 as it pops up in the notice screen in the instrument cluster when I put the key in and turn it.

Now for the actual issue:

Keyfob 2's seat memory functions work perfectly fine.  I move the seat where I want it, set the mirrors and pedals and all that, press "set" until it beeps, then hold button #2 down until it beeps twice.  I also set the exit features as well by moving the seat where I want it to go when I shut off the truck and exit the vehicle.  I get in the truck, turn the key and everything automatically returns to the settings.  As long as I have keyfob 2 with me, all works fine.

Keyfob 1, however, refuses to let me set the seat memory.  I set all the seat, mirror and pedal settings where I want them, press "set" until it beeps and then press and hold button 1 expecting it to remember the settings and beep twice, but instead, what happens is the mirrors turn completely inward (they don't fold, just the mirrors turn in), the seat starts going all the way down and back, the seat back moves all the way forward and before I know it, I'm sitting practically on the floor of the truck folded over like a F'in taco.  So, with keyfob 1, I can press and hold button 2 and it will at least go to those settings that I set with fob 2.  The exit function positions also work with keyfob1, it just won't set the settings for it, and obviously won't auto return to the settings when I start the truck like it will with fob2.

I've got 350 miles on this thing and already it's acting up.

That is very strange. The dealer installed an exhaust system for me on Thursday and my memory functions were erased. Maybe unplug the battery for a few minutes will give it a good reset?

The key may be programmed as #1 but the fob itself may be #3 or 4.  I see this happen all the time when lazy techs add a fob when the sales dept loses one instead of deleting all fobs and starting from scratch.

Is there a way to confirm that my "#1" fob is actually #3 or higher, or do I have to take it to the shop?

You would have to take it to a dealer and they can look at the fob data in the BCM .

Ok, I'll do that.  For now I'm just using fob 2 as everything works, but now the wife has fob 1.  I'm the primary driver, but at some point she will drive it and I don't want her to suffer the taco folding experience I had.  She has bad disks in her lower back and a hip replacement, that wouldn't be good.

I'll let you guys know what the dealer says....
