Can I put steering wheel controls on my 2018 work truck?

I have someone who would be willing to swap me steering wheels.

My truck is a 2018 2500 work truck, all it has is cruise control on the steering wheel.

Hs is a 2015 LT I believe. He has cruise control and radio controls on his steering wheel.

Has anybody ever swapped those over before?

Will it throw and codes for either truck, or require any additional wiring?

I also have a aftermarket kenwood ddx9904s stereo.

There's a guy who calls himself deathphoenix99 on the silverado seirra forum who wrote a how-to on this subject. I added radio controls to my 2012 Silverado using his write up. The post is old but there are still people commenting on it. Might help.
