Antifreeze leak

So update, had it to GM dealer today, they did a pressure test and sure enough its leaking in the upper right of the rad. Parts and labour close to $2100 to replace. Waiting to hear back from Ford dealer (who I bought it from) on how they plan to pay for it, as its not covered under the thermostat coverage or the power train warranty.

Funny, I mentioned to them about the clunky transmission. Was told its acting normal, and that I have "aftermarket parts" on the truck which is making it worse, and GM wouldnt cover any fix anyways. Unsure if the meant the muffler or the intake lol. SO if I need to bring it back in for it, I'll toss the factory tube back on.

I think Powertrain only covers major internal engine components?

That is unfortunate.

Based on the Cycling Thermostat thread, I think it is the dealers discretion unfortunately.

Yeah, I figured it would go this way. Either way, won't be me paying for it.

When I picked up my '14 sierra it came with a Certified Pre-Owned warranty. Then again my truck came from a GMC dealership.

The CPO has been worth its weight in gold. Repairs covered 100% and no deductible.

So far I have had 4 major issues taken care of.

I still have the remainder of the powertrain warranty in case something major goes wrong inside the engine.

actually we almost had a GM PP warranty. Was told it was on the truck, was being transferred from previous owner, only come to find out previous owner lied, actually cashed in the remainder of it and got a payout.

So update, still waiting to have this fixed. Playing phone tag with the Manager at Ford where I bought it. Finally spoke to him yesterday. He's telling me about a TSB that may cover this fix. LOL. You mean the TSB that GM said didnt cover it?? So he's waiting to hear back from GM dealership.

IMO this should have been a 10min conversation between them, and truck fixed. That said, I would rather have it fixed as per the TSB if thats really the issue, so that it doesnt happen again. So I'm not really pressing the matter if he indeed can get it covered under the TSB.
