Truck shaking my brains out

Recommended Posts

I have a 2005 Silverado 2wd 246k miles. I had a caliper seize up and after it was replaced the front end would shake violently at 60ish mph. Since that time I have replaced the following items: shocks, brake pads, calipers, caliper brackets, rotors, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, rack and pinion unit, tires, rotated rims and had 2 alignments done. The shake/wobble is still there. I am at my wits end with this truck. PLEASE HELP.

when you replaced the ball joints did you replace the control arms too? If not you might have a bad bushing on one.

The lower control arms/ball joints were replaced. The upper ball joints were replaced but not the control arm or bushings.

The truck does have ABS. Everything I have done seems to improve the shaking slightly but doesnt completely fix it. The brake pedal has zero pulsating feedback when I push it gently or hard.

From what I can tell, the only things left to replace are the upper control arm bushings and the sway bar bushings. Wheel bearing assemblies are both new.

If it locked up while driving then you need to check 4wheel alignment.

It never shakes until its warmed up and then it is random. Doesnt do it all the time.
