LED light Pitting / Oxidation

So I have had my Rigid Industries, DOT Fog lights for just over to 2 years now and I am finding that they are so terribly pitted and oxidized that there is very little if any useful light now being giving off by them.

I know I can send them into Rigid to be refurbished but I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this type of lens degradation, or might have any ideas of how to repolish the polycarbonate. I was debating trying to use a variety of fine grinding stones and then possibly Jeweler's Rouge to bring back the smooth polycarbonate surface but I certainly don't want to make the problem worse.

I'm glad that rigid is willing to warranty them but I am a bit disappointed at the level of deterioration and just two years time when my truck spends the majority of its time parked as I work from homef3feee885e6e6a5dbf44b51e11b779e2.jpg9552efca6b20ee1fa2cbfe2da9bc7679.jpg

That is not pitting or oxidation, that is heat damage being caused by the LED output being too much for the plastic lens. Nothing will stop that short of less LED light output or until they use glass for the lens cover.

That's def a failure in the poly-carbonate lens.  I would think any sanding and buffing could distort the lens and hinder the output.  Personally, I'd just have Rigid take care of them.  Luckily, I don't have any issues with mine.

Thanks for the feedback and I agree it is a failure of the lens but I'm surprised he would be due to heat as this is their stock light there's been no modifications made to boost the output
