Leaf spring bumping noise

2017 4x4 had the bumping noise coming from the rear of the truck. Usually at low speeds, particularly when going over bumps, potholes or any slightly uneven surfaces. Cudos to whoever had the idea of putting the rubber sheeting between the leaf springs. Went to Lowes and picked up two pieces of 1/8" rubber and cut each one in half. Jacked up the rear of the truck and inserted the rubber piece on each end of both leaf springs. Noise 100% gone.

Saved me 6 trips to the dealer for them to grease it and tell me its normal.

Umm I would carry it to dealer!! I had the same issue they knew the problem as soon as I described it. One of the techs road with me just to make sure we never left the parking lot. They ordered new sets for both sides. After tightening mine up & it lasted a day. The bolt holding them together wasn’t staying tight. Said they’ve had multiple trucks with the same issue

Maybe so. But judging off of a lot of guys that had the same thing, the new leafs are no different than the ones they installed from the factory. They're just satisfying you until the new ones start doing it and warranty runs out. So by the time you get the bumping noise back, your on your own.

Just had new leafs put in mine for the same issue and they look completely different. Would be curious to see pics of the old leafs to compare but they definitely have done something different.

Care to post a pic of the part number on the bottom of spring?

Is your truck a 2017? Mine is and I parked next to a 2019 today and they look different. Have a bracket to keep springs from sliding side to side.
