UCAs rubbing tires (6.5" lift & stock wheels)

I've had my lift on since December with no issues.  Today, I was under the truck and noticed shiny spots on both UCAs.  On further inspection, they are rubbing the tires slightly at full lock.  There is a corresponding strip around the inside of the tires.  Very slight, but it is there.

So, my question is, can I just take a grinder and remove the material on the arm that is making contact?  It wouldn't be much material and it doesn't seem to be in an area of structural strength importance.  Or, do you think new UCAs are needed altogether?

I will have the front apart next week installing coilovers, so then would be the time to address the issue.

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend grinding down any metal suspension component to reduce any kind of contact, in my opinion.

I would look into some small hub centric spacers like the Bora's ( which I have been running for over 35,000 miles zero issues ), but then you might have personal issues with running spacers.

Anyways, what's your suspension setup as it stands now? That the zone 6.5 lift? What are you future plans for it? Thnx

The UCA's have mostly clearanced themselves already.  ?  I'll touch them up a bit with a grinder when I have the wheels off this week.  I see no harm from knocking that corner off.

Yes, it is the Zone 6.5".  I am running BORA 1.5" spacers in the rear only to even the track width.  I do not currently have spacers in the front.  The stock 20's fit fine and only rub slightly at full lock,. rubbing the paint off the UCAs as you see in my picture.  BORA does not make a 1/2" spacer, although I'm sure they could fab some up custom if I asked/waited.  I don't have much clearance on the bumper/body with the 35x12.5 tires now, so I'm sure the 1/2" spacer will put them into contact.

My plans are to install Fox 2.5 coilovers in the front and call it done.

Does any of this change your recommendation?

No, but thanks for answering me questions, I have the same lift and at some point plan on upgrading the front suspension so I don't have to use the zone spacers, wish I could do the same for the rear and get rid of that spacer.

Thanks.
