Harmonic balancer Installation

Hi, I’m re-installing my Harmonic balancer and wanted to ask of TDC was a requirement if the timing wasn’t adjusted. I’ve recently replaced my Oil pump and I was putting everything back together. After putting on my timing cover I realized I didn’t verify TDC before attempting to reinstall the Balancer. Is there a certain position it needs to be in ?

No need to worry about position of harmonic balancer.  Internally balanced engines do not use the harmonic balancer for balancing.  If they wanted it in a set location they would still have the woodruff key and slot to key the balancer.

If you ever needed to reference TDC for whatever reason, you can always find TDC through the #1 plug hole, then mark the balancer and cover.
