1994 k1500 hood won’t latch

Ok so I have never had any problems with my hood opening or closing, after previously opening and closing after doing some minor adjusting to the engine like 5 minutes before, I opened it again to work on it a bit more and now all of the sudden the hood won’t latch. It goes all the way down and goes down even and I can’t figure why it won’t close now all of the sudden. Any ideas?

had an s-10 pickup that did this, sprayed the crap out of it with pb blaster then moved the latch around, never had an issue with it after that.
