Has anyone gotten a fix, if it's the converter, why dont they replace it,  it's under warranty,  it's not normal, I sighed up for the service help on the social media , but I'm still waiting, a 61k truck ,,its not normal, any TSBs, of late. Converter replacement, ? or just nothing? ,thanks all , Bratbowtie

Noise happens to me as well on my 2019 Silverado Z71 in warranty period. This did not happen when I test drove this truck or any other Chevrolet silverado back in 2019. If I had hear this noise when test driving and still chose to buy... that would be different. So I agree with all stating that this is not normal. My truck is at Chevy dealership now. They are currently telling me that this is normal. But they are also telling me that they don't hear anything. Not sure how since I have heard it every morning for the last six months. (most pronounced when cold - they have kept it two mornings where it was under 20 degrees F). If I get anything from the dealership I will share.

Normal imo,as these di engines, both the 5.3 and 6.2, are the most noisy racketing engines i have ever owned. These engines all literally sound like a box of rocks at idle imo.

That initial grind type noise at crank, if that is what the OP is talking about, has done it every time i have started my truck for the last 7 years now. I gave up wasting my time with dealers and e ngine noise because they literally just say it is normal and move on, very seldom will you find a proactive dealership these days.

That is the exact word GRIND just on real cold  mornings on initial start from dead cold.

I've dealt with this noise ever since I purchased the new 2017 Silverado.    The first time I brought it in with this same exact complaint I was given a service bulletin saying it was normal.   Weird noise normal?   I guess that's the excuse these days.    A few years later as my Warranty was running out, "it's the starter."    Was hopeful that was it but wasn't.   As the Warranty expired, the noise got worse and worse.   Turns out to be the Transmission!   Oh wow!   Finally.   What a joke.   I'm currently going thru this and have not had the transmission replaced but as an engineer, I knew something was wrong.   Let's let them replace the expensive as hell tranny and see if it stops the noise.   I feel like GM screwed the engineering up on something and is hoping no one finds out.   Glad I'm not them.   I hate to explain to my maker how I screwed tons of people some day.    F'n BS.
