Interchange 90s 1/2 axle with my 86 10 bolt will it work

Needing to know if a 90s model Chevrolet 10 bolt will bolt up under my 86 Chevrolet without any modifications?? Has anyone ever done this before just trying to make it as simple as possible thanks for info

Nope, the spring perches are in the wrong spot as are the shock mounts.  You can move the perches and shock mounts by cutting them off and re-welding if you really want too.  I am thinking of doing it on my 1990 K5 as the new 4X4 diff is about 4" wider overall ( 2" per side) and it evens the track width of the rear tires with the front as the rear is about 4" narrower on the square body 4X4's.  

 

A 2wd rear end from a 88 to 98 GMT400 is roughly an inch wider than your stock 86's rear end is.... so that way being only 1/2" per side you wouldn't even notice.  But like I said, spring perches and shock mounts are completely wrong
