fuel pump problem on my 96 C1500

My fuel pump quit on my 96 C1500. I took the bed off and I would like to know which wire is the hot wire to the pump. It has a GM weather pack connector with a Grey,Purple (or blue) and a Black w/white stripe wire. I have back probed the connector on all three and do not get any juice when turning the key on. Should it and if so which one? My relay clicks when turning the key on. The original pump quit in March of 2001 and I replaced the pump with a NAPA pump and hated it. It was WAY too noisy. I could hear it pumping even going down the road. I bought another GM pump now.

The test light does not light at all.

When I shut the truck off, it wouldn't start again. The pump would not run. I want to check it out before I replace the pump. The relay clicks but I don't know for sure if it's working. Is there another fuse besides the relay?

I didn't have my test light back probed in far enough. It does light up for a couple seconds but the pump does not run. Anybody had poor luck with NAPA pumps?

I just bought my pump from gmpartsdirect. It just plugged into the clip, droped into place and dropped the bed back on. There was no real thinking involved when I changed mine.

That's because you didn't do any of the work.:chevy: All you did was turn a couple bolts and did a few 12oz. curls with you size 12's propped comfortably on a chair.:jester:
