GMC CAI?

this whole thread and post are hurting my head other than Black02 post. I can even deal with some posts today, I need to go back to drinking. Please research you type build and the re calibration at least.

I'm trying a new why of posting in question threads there I don't post facts but rather encourage people to search out the answer. And also not to use "tune" talk or tech talk at all.

As for a CAI. truck use is important I have seen dirt filters and open or no box systems go off road and suck up water and blow a window in the side of the block, oil filters soak the maf, insolated sealed boxed and power cores trip out the Baro and MAP2 sensors. List goes on but you get the idea.

Oh and talking to a "dealer" buddy on warranty work is like asking a butcher the cows diet. He may see things and have stories but it is the rep and GM that makes the calls. I have posted the laws and the policies and how it would or wouldn't be a approved warranty work.

Interesting, this makes me not want to go with the GM CAI.... what did you end up deciding on?

I used the Airaid intake tube with filter. Prior to this I had always used K&N and wanted to try something new. The Airaid filter is a washable, oil free filter and easy to maintain.

As the GM set up is already a cold air intake from the factory and the CFM rating of the intake tube and air filter are more than a NA 5.3 needs. I gave it a go and enjoy it for what it is, I also used it in conjunction with exhaust and tuner.
