2000 Chevrolet Silverado Transmission Issue

Hello Everyone! I am new to the forums here. I have a question for anyone who can help. So I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L Automatic 4x4. It has 211,00 miles. The other day the transmission started shifting super hard from 1st to 2nd. I just kept driving it to see if it was just the cold or maybe it would throw a code. Litlle did i know it already had thrown a code but it didn't show on the dash. I checked the fluid level, It is all good. I checked the plugs to the Park/Neutral safety switch, all good. Now after take her easy for 2 days it not is basically undriveable. When you come to a stop it lugs down and dies almost like it is in to high a gear. It surges pretty bad in 1st. It can barely get up into my driveway. The codes it threw into my reader (I can't remember the numbers now) said 2 things. The shift solenoid malfunctioned and shift solenoid circuit low. Or something to that nature. I would give you exact numbers but i can't get it to throw those codes again. The only other thing I can think of that is related  to this issue. The shift indicator on the dash doesn't match up with the exact location of the shifter. For instance in P the shift indicator shows 3. When you shift into D it shows correctly. Thank you ahead of time for any help!
