Here they are in Montana. Buddy and I left Seattle at 4:30am Saturday morning and got into Great Falls around 3:00pm. Turned around the next morning and headed back to Seattle.

Travel facts = 1,250 miles, 22 hrs travel time, 10.3 average mpg, only one near elk miss and XM RULES!

Oh yea, the pic is yellow because of all the smoke... half of Montana is on fire right now (at least is seems that way). There was smoke in the air across much of the state.

The truck pulled it pretty well up the passes, we were able to maintain about 50mph up the big hills. I think there were three, with the highest one at over 5,000 ft. My folks '87 Tahoe had better logic in the transmission, which kinda pissed me off. The Denali would skip 3rd and jump straight to second gear when downshifting....but that could have been part of the loads fault too. I think we were pulling pretty close to 6,000 lbs with truck, trailer and gear (took every tool I had because I wasn't sure of the C10's condition.)

The C10 is in great shape, especially for spending its entire live in Montana where they salt the roads. Everything seems to work just fine, but the engine could use a tune. Its got the 250 I6 motor, four speed manual and 88,000 miles. There is a little rust one some of the panels and one dent, but that is about it. Even the wood bed is in great shape, just needs a new varnish.
