Bose subwoofer as midbass?

I am replacing my Bose system in a 2015 Silverado 2500. I have amps and speakers for 5 channels, but my audio processor (Twk-88) supports 8 channels. I am think of doing the following keeping the factory head unit.

 

Front: Alpine Type R components powered by one amp at 100w each through alpine crossover to support dash tweeters.

 

Rear: Alpine Type R coaxial powered by second amp at 50w each. (This is a four channel amp, but bridged, it pushes 200w per channel and the speakers are only 100rms.

 

Subs: Two 10” Alpine Type R subs under rear seat powered by 1200w third amp (600w each).

 

I am bypassing the Bose amp with the PAC AMPpro 4 and integrating with factory wiring using PAC’s wiring harness at factory amp.

 

The AMPPro will feed 5 channels via RCA to the JL Twk-88 for processing and then fed to the three amps.

 

UNKNOWN: Since my second amp has two extra channels that I can bridge to 100w @ 2ohms, I could hook up the factory Bose sub in the center console to this as I believe it is 2 ohms.

 

Would it be a better sound to essentially band pass this Bose sub as a “lower” mid bass integrated with the other speakers? I’m thinking for 80-200hz or so.

 

I listen to many different styles of music and like a full sound all around. I am not one who likes to overdrive bass on all music, but I do listen to very heavy bass music at times and would want to crank it up.

Out of curiosity,do you know where the PAC amp pro gets the signal from? Does it get the data signal from the stock module and convert it to RCA analog or does it provide high level after the amplifier?

It pulls the digital bus signal before it gets to the amp for a pure flat clean unaltered signal. It will give you full 5 channels out. It doesn’t disconnect the speakers so if you only want to amp a couple speakers or add a sub, you can. It also give you a remote turn on.

That's pretty sweet.I know those things are pricey but they're worth it if you are doing a full system.I sell integration harnesses for 2010-present GM's that are more geared for adding a subwoofer and amp to a stock system.A lot of the models from 2010-2016 still used low level audio signals if the vehicle had a stock amp so thats where I grab my signals from for those harnesses.It is actually a very clean and flat balanced signal that produces zero noise whatsoever.Impressive for OEM!
