17 Silverao rear window defogger comes on automatically when cold

I dont know if this is normal or not but on my 17 Silverado crew cab the rear window defogger comes on automatically when I cold start it in the AM when its cold out and the truck is in the garage. Its not that big of a deal, I look for it now & shut it off but was wondering if there is a way to disable this so its strictly manual turn on. Ill will check the temps that it comes on in the future but id say when the temperature at least in the high 20s

I'm pretty sure you can turn this off in the vehicle settings in the radio interface.

It won't disable if you use your remote start though.

 

I set my truck to disable it when I start it but that only works if I use my keys. If I remote start the truck on the driveway, the re-defogger will turn itself on no matter what.

 

I believe anything under about 32-35 it will turn itself on.

i dont use the remote start anyway but thanks. Ill try to find time to reset it today

That is correct...even though you set it to not come on, it still does...There is much speculation about this feature causing the rear window blow-out issue....I pulled the fuse on mine to avoid it coming on until there is a fix identified...
