dbs600 Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Hi everyone, 2019 Colorado here. Anyone else having problems with infotainment? My screen goes black and then goes through a very long ‘reboot’ process. Something’s not right. Shouldn’t go black / automatically reboot randomly. Happened 4-5 times in 2-3 weeks. Any insight on this? Thanks.
OldChevyNut Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Definitely a dealer/warranty thing. Take it in right away. Before I got my Canyon, it happened on a SLT test drive truck. Sales person blamed me for pressing the menu key "wrong" but how do you press a key "wrong" ? Anyway, pulled over and it took about 3 minutes 15 seconds for the system to re-boot and then it worked for the rest of the test drive. Back at the dealer, the service guy said "never saw it before", but 2 minutes later the same guy said "there's 2 plastic connectors that sometimes don't make good connection". On the test truck, they changed the whole cable with one from a Denali (that they were prepping for a different customer that was waiting for it) and then it seemed fine. But about a week later, I bought a different truck from a different dealer. But after about 1000 miles on the Canyon, I went trough litigation and GM bought it back for full purchase price. Transmission problems, dealer refused to fix. Now I have a new 2019 F-150 XLT 5.0 10-speed Crew Cab that cost almost $2,000.00 LESS than the Canyon. It's even Red.
