Question

Posted

2010 chevy 2500HD 52000 miles was pulling a 5th wheel camper weight approx  11000 lbs, was running great and passed over a railroad track after slowing down, kinda rough crossing, The truck lost about 1/2 of its power, no codes were set, fuel pump pressure is at 55-65 lbs running, after shut off for 20 min will bled down to 35-40 lbs. Could the noise set the knock senses without a code? Also after unhooking the trailer and restarting it seems to run normal (without a load).

No codes,as in,no cel?or did you check with scanner? you might have a pending code, and, max on knock sensors is 2.5 degrees retard, happens more than you know, with no noticable issues

Stay safe,I was just thinking that you mentioned the r.r. tracks, that had to be pretty severe,a heck of a jolt to the truck, maybe a pcm communication error

When this happened we were about 40 miles from home, I was not sure if I should shut it off. We made it home with engine hitting 5000 rpm at times in order to maintain some sort of speed (mostly in 3rd gear).

However had no trouble parking  the 5th wheel (Had to back up a small hill after shutting down the truck and restarting it).  My question is could the problem error reset itself or is it hidden in the PCM?

Thanks
