Where is the door switch ?

Is there a way to have the key switch in "ACC" with doors open and listen to the radio WITHOUT that annoying chime going off all the time ? I know I could just unplug the chime, but I still want it to work for the "lights on" and "seat belt" warnings. On my previous Chevy Blazer and Dodge Ramcharger, I made a metel tab that I could move over on top of the plunger switch to hold it in to kill the interior lights and buzzers. On my 2000 Z-71, I don't see any type plunger switch. So how do these things work- magnet or what ? :(

O.K.---So how can I disable it when I need to?

Use a plastic dowel or clothes pin wooden piece. Press the door latch until it goes in closed position. Been doing this for decades for various cars and trucks that have similar problems. When you do this, the latch is in closed position. Be sure to open the door handle before you close the door for real. Just experiment...it works. If your fingers are good enough, you can do this without the dowel. Beats hackin and slashing wires. Just a simple door latch defeat, that's all.

:D DUH !! I should have known that. Had been doing it for years on the liftgate on my old 88 Ramcharger. Went out and did it a few minutes ago with no problem. THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
