Has anyone used this in there trucks on here?

Was looking at the bob's oil sight, and it seems alot of people there suggest it. But there is just something about not putting pennzoil in my vehicles( have used that for over 14yrs and never any problems).

Walmart sells it, I have used it in my 1992 Grand Caravan for quite a few miles. It has 180,000 miles on it so I figure it's not going to hurt it any. I've used quite a few different oils in it, whatever's on sale as long as it's API certified, since about 100,000. If nothing was on sale, I bought the Supertech. It's API certified so there shouldn't be an issue. I'm religious about changing the oil & filter every 3000, figure it's cheap insurance.

On the other hand, I'm running only Mobil 1 in my 2002 Avalanche. I'm planning on driving it until the wheels fall off and want to put "the good stuff" in it.

From all the reading I have found on the Super Tech oil and fliters itn't bad oil. If your changing it every 3k then it would be fine IMO. If you really want to save the money you can use it, but I would rather stick with the Penzoil. For a couple pennies more it has a better additive package in it. As for the Super Tech filters, they are made well and like you from reading on Bobistheoilguy site they talk highly of them and are better than Fram. I use it on my in-laws vehicles as well as our daughters CAP workers car. The changing oil every 3k is the key.

Of course in my personal vehicles it is synthetic and extrended drains, along with oil analysis to make sure it is holding up. I plan on keeping my Silverado a long time but the wife will be getting a new vehicle sooner than me due to the fact of wear and tear. With twin 6yr girls and all their friends the Venture is getting a wear tear beating. :jester: But that is part of life.

Did you read on there about Auto RX? With those miles on your car it might help to give it a try and clean it out. Just a thought. Again on Bob's site I have yet to hear anyone complain that RX didn't do what it was suppose to do. All I read is how well it worked. I know it made a difference in my father-in-laws car.

I would say anything with the "Starburst" is good oil, I mean others may have different additives and stuff but the SuperTech should well protect and not break down before 3000 miles prolly more. I use it in my ATVs since I change it so often, and would use it in my truck if it was way cheaper than others. Currently I have been gettin Castrol in the 5 quart bottles so I havent used Supertech. As for the filters my dad uses them in his S10 and I think they are good filters, arent they synthetic material instead of paper (syn is supposed to be better)? If I couldnt get an AC the SuperTech Filter would prolly be the next choice at least over Fram!

I have used SuperTech oil and filters in my cars for years.

99 Silverado 116,000 miles

89 Cutlass Supreme 198,000 miles

88 Cutlass Supreme 187,000 miles

94 Cutlass Supreme 124,000 miles

No oil related problems to date.

I used to run Castrol GTX in the 89 Cutlass and SuperTech in the 88, until I noticed the engine was staying cleaner with less varnish in the 88, so since then I use SuperTech in everything.

Good stuff and good price.
