Heat and AC Controls

I have the duel control in my 2004 1500 silverado.  On the driver side it will occasionally blow hot air when the AC is on.  I get squeaking from the system and has been acting up for awhile.  What is the best way to attack this?  Do i have to pull the whole dash out?  I would like to replace the blower motor anyway.

Thanks

Any tutorials would be great

The blower motor is not hard to change at all. Removing the dash is not required. Remove the black plastic cover in the passenger side floor board under the dash. 3 7mm head bolts. Unplug wiring harness from blower motor and im not for sure which way to turn it but you have to twist the whole motor assembly to remove. Look at the base of the plastic motor assembly and turn towards the big gap then the motor will slide right out.

If one side is blowing hot when you have the AC on, then the most likely culprit is the blend door/ temp actuator for that side is malfunctioning. This is a very common occurrence across many platforms and not terribly expensive to replace one (though a little labor is involved on some).

And that actuator is located on the passenger side above the trans tunnel. Plenty of videos to watch for removal advice. Youtube is your friend
